Our Story
We are a third generation company that strives to help clients build their wealth and mitigate the financial hardships that come our way in life.
After immigrating to Canada with his wife Elisabeth in 1952, Jack van Wyngaarden started working as a door to door Bordens milk salesman and decided he could help families more by selling peace of mind - life insurance to help mitigate the loss of the family breadwinner. From there, Jack grew his practice to become Van Wyngaarden Insurance Brokers LTD. This allowed him to be able to be bring his wife into the business as well as hire his first employee along with helping numerous families with their toughest financial times.
From there, his son, Don van Wyngaarden took the family business to new plateaus with his wife Frances. Together they grew the business into a financial planning centre and opened up the business further to provide leadership, mentoring and supervision of other advisors who were similarly motivated in helping local families as well.
From there, our third generation, Don Ballantyne and his wife Nikki have continued to grow and expand both our business and our desire to help young professionals, small business owners and local families to meet their financial goals and avoid the financial devastation of not having a plan in place.
Each generation of our family business has dealt with illness and the ultimate hardship that life sometimes provides and sound financial planning has helped us overcome those significant challenges and that is our motivation to help others.
